Oh, posting daily over a weekend is not always easy when its filled with many good things to be thankful for.
When I (or rather the littlest) woke very early on Saturday and the realization dawned that the Friday post was never posted, it was so tempting to fudge the post date and let that be that.
But a desire to be honest through this Lenten experience and mark the stumbles along the way was too important. I am grateful for facing it honestly instead of fearfully dodging.
Then Saturday filled itself with firsts and new experiences all throughout the day and well into the night. And being wrapped up in broadening my horizons, appreciating that special day is one more thing I am grateful for.
Today was an ordinary day, but filling a day with simple acts of existence — laundry, sewing, cooking and enjoying the company of my family, is something special in these times of “hurry up.” I’m grateful for the opportunity to slow down without guilt for a day.
