Today I got to feel different kinds of warmth:
The warmth a parent feels when they see how their children love each other.
The warmth a friend feels when gathering with others to reconnect and mark another new year.
The weighty warmth of a baby in my arms, surrendering to a night of sleep.
The warmth that, while Mother Nature may see fit to deny our little corner of the world right now, the furnace will still deliver.
I’m grateful to feel these warmths at varying levels any day of the year. Yet as we start a new one, its amplified somehow. And I’m even more grateful for that.
