Unsinkable optimism.

Optimism only has as much buoyancy as your attitude gives it.

And when your attitude has been challenged, nearly nonstop for many years, by some feckless crapweasel of a cancer, it’s easy to see how one’s optimism could sink amidst the latest less-than-rosy diagnosis.

A family friend is showing us how her optimism keeps bobbing along, despite the treacherous currents and toxic cocktails that medicine holds to as the best hope to outlive this cancer.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to observe (even if it is from the sidelines of a CaringBridge page) what could go down in history as the most chipper ass-kicking that cancer has ever been dealt.
